Home – City / Mix
It is a lot easier looking at property when you know you can’t buy. I think you tend to look just a little more outside your requirements and think differently. You are not as much concerned about potential or investment.
On that note, I spotted this apartment, which I think has both. I love the layout, location, oh, and the high ceilings. What do you think? A price comparison could be this apartment.
It probably needs a bit of a refresh, though there isn’t many pictures to look at online, this is what I am thinking….. oh and I am tempted to paint the ceiling either black or white.
For the kitchen, I would spray paint the cabinets matt black, the walls a mute grey, keep the white tops and add some low lights. Like the below.
For the dining area I would put in some low lighting like below to section the area off.
For the living area, it might be nice to make it relaxed and a little bohemian like below.
For the bedrooms, it may be best to keep them simple like these…
And maybe the bathrooms also simple like the below.

Can’t quite believe I am saying this, but a $1million dollars will get you this property in Redfern. REDFERN people! Who would have thought that 2 or 3 years ago, let alone 10? Not me at least. Anyone else? Have I really missed any opportunity to buy a house in a 10km radious of Sydney CBD? It is looking like a big FAT yes.

Well this is an interesting apartment
. It is winter and there is not much on the market, but for some reason this is still on offer at $798k. Yes it is south facing and the internal is only 55sqm with only 1 bed and 1 bath, but I think the size of the courtyard more than makes up for it. What do you think? I would aim to purchase it for $750k.
So given the below current state…..
this is what I would do….
For the courtyard, bring in some more big pots with leafy trees that act like a canopy and can provide some privacy from the high rise (viewed from the bedroom)
All the above pinned here
For the kitchen, add some character with mirrors and injecting colour, like the below.
The living and dining, I would envisage as a simple clean look like the below
The bedroom to stay modern and sleek, like the below, but adding a touch of grey to the walls.
The bathroom to be added some warm, with some colour, like below.
